Unique Event Features $150,000 World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Jackpot 100,’ Raffle Offering Over Half-Million Dollars In Cash & Prizes

MIDDLEBOURNE, WV – Jan. 6, 2012 – Tyler County Speedway already hosts the ‘Black Diamond 125,’ a Labor Day weekend World of Outlaws Late Model Series spectacular that’s become known as the “coolest crown jewel on the planet.”

This year the quarter-mile Mountaineer State oval will add another blockbuster to its schedule, unveiling the Memorial Day weekend ‘Bullring Bonanza’ that promises to be the most unique event dirt-track racing has ever seen.

A collaborative effort between the Tyler County Fireman’s Association and the Circle Track Management group that promotes Tyler County Speedway, the ‘Bullring Bonanza’ is a two-day fundraising event on May 25-26 that features the $150,000-plus WoO LMS ‘Jackpot 100′ and a raffle offering over a half-million dollars in cash and prizes.

While the $25,000-to-win/$2,000-to-start ‘Jackpot 100′ for the nationally-renowned World of Outlaws tour on Sat., May 26, stands as the primary on-track attraction of the weekend, it’s the amazing array of additional entertainment and fan enticements that sets the ‘Bullring Bonanza’ apart. The weekend will include live music, lots of great food, camping in the hills of West Virginia and, of course, the Saturday mega-raffle during which purchasers of $100 ‘Bullring Bonanza’ tickets will have a chance to win a long list of valuable prizes.

A $50,000 cash grand prize tops the raffle, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in conjunction with a ticket-holder buffet administered by Quinet’s famous catering. Only 10,000 ‘Bullring Bonanza’ raffle tickets will be sold, and all proceeds will benefit Tyler County fire departments and Tyler County Speedway upgrades.

“We are very excited about this unique event,” said Circle Track Management’s Frank Wilson. “The concept is based around a fundraising raffle featuring a tremendous country music lineup on Friday night (May 25) and six hours of non-stop prize drawings on Saturday afternoon that will send fans home with new cars, trucks, campers, Harleys, lots of cash and other great prizes. Throw in an all-you-can-eat buffet from Quinet’s famous catering and a Saturday-night racing program that includes the $25,000-to-win World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Jackpot 100′ and the $5,000-to-win ‘Let It Ride 55′ for the TSMA Renegades of Dirt Modifieds Tour, and how could the weekend get any better?

“This could be the can’t-miss show of the year – all for one ticket price of $100, and with all proceeds going to benefit the Tyler County Fireman’s Association and Tyler County Speedway improvements. It’s a win/win for race fans, the firemen of Tyler County and the speedway.

“Between this season’s historic ‘Bullring Bonanza’ and the coolest crown jewel on the planet – the ‘Black Diamond 125′ on Sept. 1 – we feel the ‘Bullring’ continues to grow among the nation’s elite speedways,” concluded Wilson.

Each $100 ticket for the one-of-a-kind ‘Bullring Bonanza’ experience is an all-access pass to the weekend, which officially kicks off on Fri., May 25, with a full day of fun at the Tyler County Fairgrounds – vendors, prize displays, swap meets, concessions, cornhole tournaments and much more. An evening of country music entertainment featuring several nationally-known recording artists (still to be announced) will begin on stage at 6 o’clock, and those who purchase tickets by March 30 will be eligible for two $1,000 ‘Early Bird’ raffle drawings during Friday’s festivities.

The prize drawing portion of the ‘Bonanza’ weekend will take place as part of the ‘Jackpot 100′ pre-race festivities on Sat., May 26, beginning at 11 a.m. and running through 5 p.m. Over $550,000 in cash and prizes will be given away, including brand-new cars and trucks; several Harley-Davidson motorcycles; ATVs; travel trailers; new race cars; trips to locales such as Cancun, Las Vegas, Nashville and DisneyWorld; Cabela’s shopping sprees; and cash awards ranging from $500 to $50,000.

Winning tickets will be drawn every five minutes during the six-hour ‘Bonanza’ raffle and buffet. Winners need not be present to win, and each ticket is eligible to win more than once.

A full list of prizes can be seen below in the ‘Bullring Bonanza Frequently Asked Questions’ section and on-line at the event’s dedicated Web site, www.BullringBonanza.org.

The weekend will be capped by a full racing program on Saturday night, including time trials, heats, B-Mains and the ‘Jackpot 100′ for the WoO LMS and a complete show for the TSMA Renegades of Dirt Modifieds Tour. Gates to the speedway are scheduled to open at 5:30 p.m. and hot laps are set to begin at 7 p.m.

For the racers, a cash award of $200 will be paid to each of the 10 teams ($2,000 total) that travel the most miles to compete in the ‘Jackpot 100′ event.

‘Bullring Bonanza’ ticket buyers, who must be at least 18 years of age, are entitled to one guest ticket per concert, Bonanza (not eligible for prizes) and race at $35 each. Children 10-and-under will be admitted free to the Friday-night Concert and the ‘Jackpot 100′ race.

WHEELERSBURG, OH-The Southern Ohio Speedway is proud to announce that the track will be hosting the first ever 3/4 Scale Late Model race to ever take place in the southern Ohio region. The Pennsylvania based TRD Late Model Series will invade the high banks of SOS on Friday, June 1st for a $1,500 to win, $200 to start show. Also on the card that night will be “Kids Night” with Late Models-$2,000 to win, Modifieds-$600 to win, Sport Mods, and an Enduro at the end of the evening.

The TRD Late Models are based off the same concepts put into Mini-Sprint and Mod-Lite racing. The TRD Late Models are a 3/4 scale of the regular Late Models with motorcycle engines. The cars run 4 link suspensions with Billet Aluminum Birdcages, Bilstein Shocks, and quick change rear ends. In trying to keep competition as close as possible, the series is a spec series as all engines are sealed and all chassis in the region purchased from Swartz Race Cars in Minford, Ohio. The series ran in the Pennsylvania region last year.

“We’re really excited about the opportunity to host the first ever 3/4 scale Late Model race in the region”, stated H&L Motorsports co-owner T. J. Layne. “These cars are really cool and something I think our fans are really going to enjoy getting to watch. From what I’ve seen, the cars are really fast and produce some exciting racing. This is a class that I see making some noise in the future. It’s exciting to see the class being introduced in the southern Ohio region, we’re proud to get to be a part of it all.”

The TRD Late Models are set to run several races in the southern Ohio region this season. In addition to the June 1st race, the series is tentatively set to return to SOS for a second race on Friday, July 20th. A complete TRD Late Model is on display at Swartz Race Cars, where anybody interested in racing in the class can purchase a car. Hartford, OH December 10, 2011 It was recently confirmed that newly crowned three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart would be returning to compete in the fourth annual Lou Blaney Memorial Alzheimer’s Association Benefit on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Sharon Speedway. Now Sharon Speedway is thrilled to announce that NASCAR Sprint Cup star Kasey Kahne will once again join Stewart in the “410″ Sprint Car portion of the event.

Kahne most recently captured his 12th career NASCAR Sprint Cup win at Phoenix International Raceway in the next-to-last 2011 event on November 11, and will now move over to Hendrick Motorsports in 2012 replacing Mark Martin in the #5. The 31-year-old Enumclaw, Washington native has competed in all three prior Lou Blaney Memorials with finishes of sixth, seventh, and twelfth respectively. Last season, Kahne was also a surprise entrant in the Ohio Speedweek All Star Circuit of Champions event where he finished a disappointing 17th.

Kahne hopes to improve on those finishes and capture his career first Sharon Speedway win when July 10 rolls around. Kahne’s racing roots began in a Sprint Car as a teenager where he owns six career All Star victories along with an opening day Williams Grove checkered flag. He’d later go on to be a winner in the USAC ranks including a Midget title before moving on to NASCAR. Besides his own racing success, Kahne has become a successful car owner in the World of Outlaw Sprint Car and USAC Series.

Friends of Lou Blaney will again attend the Memorial Event to help celebrate the life and accomplishments of the Hall of Fame driver, who won more than 600 feature victories during a five-decade career. The legend has at least 121 Modified wins and another 11 documented in a Sprint Car at Sharon alone. Blaney passed away in 2009 after battling Alzheimer’s.

Stay tuned for more information on the event, which benefits the Alzheimer’s Association. Sharon Speedway will get an early start to the 2012 season on Saturday, January 7 when snowmobiles take to the track. Gates open at 9 a.m. with racing at 11 a.m. Snowmobile racing will return on Saturday, January 21. The 2011 awards banquet will be held on Saturday, February 4 at the Yankee Lake (OH) Ballroom. More information on these events will be forthcoming.

Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305. Hartford, OH December 6, 2011 The Lou Blaney Memorial has quickly become one of the most popular and highly-anticipated racing events held annually throughout the western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio region. The 2012 version has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 10 at Sharon Speedway, and already committing to the fourth annual event benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association is Tony Stewart!

Stewart, fresh off his third NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship, was the event’s inaugural winner in 2009 and finished fifth and ninth in the 2010 and 2011 Lou Blaney Memorial events respectively. His popular 2009 victory marked his first career “410″ winged feature win! Stewart will look to regain his winning form on July 10 when he climbs behind the wheel of his #14 Sprint Car.

While Stewart’s record five “Chase” wins and thrilling championship have been well documented, the Columbus, Indiana native added another impressive notch to his resume capturing his first career World of Outlaw Sprint Series victory on July 27 at Canada’s Ohsweken Speedway!

As a car owner, Stewart’s Donny Schatz won the Knoxville Nationals and swept the season ending World Finals on his way to finishing second in WoO Sprint points and Steve Kinser trailed in third with a Series high nine victories. Levi Jones drove Stewart’s USAC National Sprint Car Series and Silver Crown entries to championships as well.

Stewart, who owns Eldora Speedway, is also the co-founder of the International Motorsports Industry Show, which takes place this week (December 8-10) at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Besides Stewart’s 2009 victory, local racer Mike Lutz and Texan Sam Hafertepe, Jr. have captured Lou Blaney Memorial victories on the Sprint Car side. There has yet to be a repeat winner in the Big-Block Modifieds with New York legend Jack Johnson taking the 2009 race, while local Ohio drivers Jim Rasey and Rob Kristyak stole the thunder the past two seasons.

(Middlebourne, WV) Edge Entertainment is pleased to announce exciting news to the Mid-Ohio Valley area racing fans with the introduction of the brand new ‘Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour’. The inaugural 2012 season dubbed as the “Breaking Ground Tour” will see between 10 – 12 ‘Renegade’ affiliated marquee events in a relatively small geographic area covering Southern & Eastern Ohio, Southwestern Pa. and the series’ base state of West Virginia.

“By maintaining a smaller footprint, we feel that it will allow the series to build a strong and loyal base of racers, fans, and better serve the tracks and marketing partners” said EDGE Entertainment’s Dan Patterson.

Patterson, who gained a strong reputation for aggressive motor sports marketing as one of the primary players in the very successful ‘BDS Promotions’ team is joined by Middlebourne area businessman and EDGE Director of Operations Cody Watson in the new venture.

The introduction of the ‘Renegades of Dirt’ will also usher in fresh new promotional ideas intended to engage the fans, promote the racers, and market each host track through a wide variety of ways.

“It’s important that we work together to create new fans, while at the same time growing the existing fan base” said Watson. “We intend to not only provide the fans with the best collection of drivers in the region, but make it an event…an interactive, fan friendly product that will represent each track, racer and sponsor in a most positive way”.

Working in conjunction with the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour will be the Tri-State Modified Association (TSMA) sanctioning body. “This was a natural fit with what we feel will provide the optimal ‘bang for the buck’ for the host track’s, allowing racers a choice to run product of their own choosing” said Patterson. “It makes it much easier to attract talent when they aren’t restricted by branding rules” added Watson.

The Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour will use TSMA car construction rules, and will be sanctioned by the TSMA for all events. Accordingly, the TSMA and EDGE Entertainment will be providing a lucrative point/contingency fund for eligible racers. Along with this comes the attractive ‘Renegades’ minimum purse structure of at least $1500 to win and $150 to start. Additionally, the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour will be providing a plethora of cash event bonuses, as well as providing several substantial cash bonus programs to reward the area’s finest modified racers.

On top of all the above, the ‘Renegades of Dirt’ will honor the Rookie of the Year, Engine Builder of the Year, Chassis Builder of the Year and the season’s ‘Elbow’s Up Hard Charger’ through a cumulative point program. Also a unique concept known as the “Bounty Hunter Challenge” will be present at each event adding to the luster and appeal of each Renegade event. The ‘Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour’ requires no sanctioning fees to the host tracks, a welcome relief to any promoter.

“From my past track promotional experience, I know the challenges that every promoter has in regards to marketing, advertisement and the race program itself” stated Patterson. “We intend to work with them every step of the way to provide a quality product that will be affordable, yet attractive for all.”

The EDGE team was also highly complimentary of the modified division as a whole. “The modifieds have never really gotten the attention that they rightfully deserve in our area” said Patterson. “We’ll be working with the competitors to create a series that will carry prestige wherever we race”. “There’s currently a lot of star power racing modifieds, plus a great mix of youth and experience” added Watson. “These guys already know how to put on a great race. We’re going to work with everyone to put on a great show”.

The Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour is already well on the way to a successful debut. “We initially put out some feelers to gauge the interest in the ‘Renegades’ concept. What we found was not only interest, but requests for booking dates” said Patterson. “We presently have a tentative schedule with some impressive events already in the works.”

Even the racer’s have gotten into the act. “We’ve had some interesting phone calls from racers who have heard about this, and some were pretty surprising to say the least. Some pretty well known modified as well as late model racers are expressing real interest in what we’re doing. I really believe this is going to be something that everyone will want to be a part of, and that’s the exciting thing.”

With a race staff already in place, a dedicated website (www.renegadesofdirt.com) loaded with series info as well as the director’s contact information, and the upcoming season schedule nearing completion, it does appear that the ‘Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour’ is set to corner the market on excitement, while using a combination of old traditions and new age marketing. This is indeed the cutting “EDGE”.

“We have had several race teams contact us the past few weeks wanting to rent the track to do some testing before the winter arrives”, stated H&L Motorsports co-owner T. J. Layne. “So, after checking out the race surface and looking at the weather forecast this week, we have decided to open the track Saturday for a Test N’ Tune day. This will be a fun day for everybody to come and spend one last Saturday at the race track before the long, cold winter.”

Gates will open on Saturday at 11:00 am. The track will be open for practice from noon until dusk. All classes are invited and spectactors are welcome to attend as well. Admission is FREE and there will be no charge to enter a car to practice. If there is rainfall on Friday, please be sure to check the website at www.southernohiospeedway.com before heading out Saturday to check the status of the Test N’ Tune.
