2 min read

Following a planned 4 week mid-summer break, racing action is soon to return to the Skyline Speedway, as the track ramps up for the facilities home stretch of their 2021 reopening season with a full evening of racing this Saturday August 14th!

The big night of racing will feature the UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds along with the Sport Mods and 4-Cylinders. and for the first time since reopening, the track will also host a 5th class, as the track welcomes the Mod Lite division thanks to Davis Customs and Weingarth LLC. Promoter Jeff Burdette looks forward to hosting the class, in addition to the already exciting 4 divisions that have provided some excellent racing action thus far this season.

Promoter Jeff Burdette has been very encouraged about the action Skyline has provided so far in it’s return season. The track’s last event in mid-July, saw two regional standouts in Corey Conley and Tyler Carpenter thrill fans with a 12 lap long battle for the lead which would ultimately see Carpenter prevail and score his first win at the track since reopening. While another regional standout KC Burdette would handedly score the win the UMP Modified feature, local favorite Brandon Davis would take a rough start of his evening and turn it into a popular feature win in the Sport Mod division while the Wise family continues to pace the 4-Cylinder class with another win, only this time father Randy would outduel his son Chris for the feature win!

The track expects yet another great field of cars this coming Saturday night (August 14th). which is expected to feature a little different mix of competitors, as multiple facilities within the region have scheduled off-weekends, which should only give fans at Skyline more excitement once the green flag drops this Saturday night!

The evening will kick off with gates opening at 4 PM and will get underway with Hot Laps slated to begin at 7:00 PM (Sharp). As always, the staff at the Skyline Speedway encouraged you to watch our Social Media sites including Facebook and Twitter for the most current updates as we approach the race weekend and we look forward to seeing you this Saturday night!

(Reminder: The Harvest 50 returns September 24th and 25th. Be on the lookout for event info coming soon)
