Comet Classic 100 To Pay $5,800 To Win!

The Comet Classic 100 Open Wheel Modified event is coming back this season on Friday and Saturday, July 8-9th! This prestigious event was formed last year, however, was downsized due to the tire shortage at hand. Stephen Klinect took the honors last season finding himself in the Wiggins Construction Victory Lane!

We are still dealing with the tire shortage at hand here in the United States, however, we are hopeful that a plan is in place from Lorain Raceway Park to still host this event this season, even if we can not get the maximum amount of fresh tires to supply to each team. Details on this will be out soon. LRP Is committed to paying $5,800 to win and $580 to start this event in 2022 making it the richest Modified event in the State of Ohio!

The entire origin of the Comet Classic is to be centered around the community of Amherst and bring the entire community, city and township together at one place, The County, for a weekend! To enhance this initiative we will continue the tradition of having a car show down the street at our friends Sliman’s in Amherst to kick off the event, but also, Sliman’s Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram will be the title sponsor of this event!

We are beyond blessed with the support the Sliman’s family and team have given us since 2020 and we are very excited to expand this partnership of the sponsorship of this prestigious Open Wheel Modified event!
