STRONGSTOWN, PA (July 19, 2022) – As the saying goes “third times the charm” for Dog Hollow Speedway and the Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Super Late Models by Memorial Highway Chevrolet. Friday, July 22, the ULMS Series will try for the third time to get a race in at the smooth 3/8 mile facility. Sharing time in the spotlight that night is the Inaugural Bill Sigofoes Memorial for Pure Stocks and the first visit of the season for the 358 Steel Block Late Models.
Twice this season DHS has attempted to get a ULMS event for the Subway of Downtown Clearfield Super Late Models by Memorial Highway Chevrolet in the books. Dog Hollow and Marion Center Raceway will run back-to-back events this weekend. Fans are invited to camp out with us Friday night and then head over to Marion Center. The tracks are only about 22 miles apart and will make for a great two race weekend.
The weather is looking great and we are anticipating a great field of cars. The winner’s share is $3500 with $500 to start the 30-lap race. This will be the eighth time the ULMS has visited the Dog Pound. Max Blair and Kyle Hardy each having a pair of victories. Michael Lake, Alex Ferree and Sammy Stile have one each.
Jared Miley is the current point leader of the ULMS and will lead the charge of invaders into the Strongstown oval to battle against Dog Hollow stars Joe Petyak, Michael Lake, Jon Lee, John Wayne Weaver, Denny Fenton, Dave Blazavich and Clinton Hersh.
We are also honored to host the Inaugural Bill Sigofoes Memorial for the Schaeffer’s Oil RUSH Stock Cars/Pure Stocks. Bill is tied with John Mazey as the all-time win list at the track with 24. The race will be 24-laps in honor of those wins. Thanks to Sam McAdams and Mollie McGuire, who came up with the idea to run this race. Bill’s car number was 67 and the race will pay the winner a nice $670. The weekly purse will move down to second and be paid the rest of the way back.
The 358 Steel Block Late Models will be making their first visit of the season. The Steel Blocks will race for a winner’s check of $1000. The Texas Auto Ranch 4 Cylinders and Modified 4 Cylinders will also be racing Friday night while the Townsend Gas & Oil RUSH Late Models have the night off.
