LATROBE, PA (July 30, 2022) – In what turned out to be a wild night Summerville’s Jon Lee took home two paychecks after winning in the Townsend Gas & Oil RUSH Late Models and Subway of Downtown Clearfield Super Late Models. Adam Pletcher returned to victory lane in the Texas Auto Ranch 4 Cylinders. His last win in the 4 Cylinders came in 2010. Tim Steis survived the Schaeffer’s Oil Pure Stock melee for his third win this season with Mike Laughard, subbing for Tim, winning the RUSH Stock Car feature. Gene Wrightstone and Jeff Manners won the Vintage Modified A-Mains.

Outside pole sitter Jon Lee out ran the field into turn one and never looked back. Lee received some pressure from Joe Martin, Michael Duritsky and Ryan Frazee but eventually pulled away after each caution to earn the win in the Townsend Gas & Oil RUSH Late Model feature. Lee won for the second straight time in the division. Michael Duritsky, Joe Martin, Ryan Frazee, Colin Casale, RJ Dallape, Tim Snare, Ryan Hare, Lucas McDonald and Colby Beighey completed the top ten. Casale and Lee were the heat winners.

Gene Wrightstone, of Enola, was the class of the field in the PA Thunder on the Dirt Vintage Modifieds. Wrightstone had a huge lead wiped out on lap 12. On the restart Wrightstone was gone again and took home the win. Mark Hahn finished second over Fred Hildenbrand, Jeff Manners, Tom Warburton, Tim Natalino, Wally Stock, John Marks, Steve Lingo and Dave Philips. Jeff Manners won the Sportsman part of the race. Heats were won by Tim Natalino and Gene Wrightstone.

Once again the draw put Jon Lee on the outside pole for the Subway of Downtown Clearfield Super Late Model feature. Lee raced to the point with Del Rougeux in tow. Lee began to pull away like he did in the crates. Rougeux was in a battle with Joe Petyak for the second with John Wayne Weaver also joining the battle. Lee was dominating when the yellow flew on lap 20. On the restart Petyak took over second from Rougeux and set off after the leader. Lee was not to be denied for his first DHS Super Late Model win of the year. Petyak was second ahead of Rougeux, John Wayne Weaver, Denny Fenton, Ryan Christoff, Dylan Fenton, Josh Whetstone and Jim Decker. Winning the heat races were Del Rougeux and Jon Lee.

After two bad starts Ron Benton was the initial leader of the Schaeffer’s Oil RUSH Stock Cars/Pure Stock feature. Benton had a nice lead when he spun bringing out the yellow on lap six. Another yellow produced a red flag. When all was settled Tim Steis was the new leader. Steis led the final nine laps to score his third win this season. Behind Steis was Jeremy Fama, Bill Pluta, Jr., Mike Laughard (subbing for his brother), John Eckenrod, Joe Kephart III, Mike Ball, Ron Benton and Brad Benton. Fama and Steis were heat winners.

In the Texas Auto Ranch 4 Cylinders Adam Pletcher led all 12-laps with some stiff competition. Ashton Daughenbaugh gave chase to the Tire Hill driver five laps until Tyler Laughard got by him. Laughard took off after Pletcher and was glued to his rear bumper for the final seven laps looking for a way around. Pletcher crossed under the checker for the win. His last 4 Cylinder win came back on July 30 of 2010. He had nine Pure Stock wins in between. Laughard was second over Ashton Daughenbaugh, Dave Diethrick, Bill Eckenrode, Todd Davis and Timothy Whetstone. Pletcher won the lone heat.

Dylan Young lead all six laps of the Modified 4 Cylinders for his second win of the season beating out Timothy Baker. Young also won the heat.
