Valvoline Late Models & John Schneider Head To Atomic Speedway For Iron-Man 40 on Saturday

WAVERLY, OHIO (September 14, 2022)—The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series will trek to Atomic Speedway for the final trip of 2022 on Saturday Night September 17 as the “Iron-Man 40” will pay $7,500-to-win for the Late Model tour plus $1,500-to-win for the Brucebilt Iron-Man UMP Modifieds in their tour finale. The event will be complimented with a first-time visit from TV star John Schneider.

TV Star and country music singer John Schneider will be on hand signing autographs, hosting a VIP Meet & Greet and more. Schneider is best known for his acting role in the hit TV show “Dukes of Hazzard” as Schneider played the role of Bo Duke which ran from 1979-1985. In 1982, Schneider and singer Marie Osmand along with her brothers co-founded the Children’s Miracle Network. In 1995, Schneider founded FaithWorks Productions in order to produce family-oriented videos and recordings. In 1998, Schneider became a born-again Christian while living with Johnny and June Carter Cash for a short time, and speaking with Johnny about Christianity.

“I’m so excited to be at Atomic Speedway because I’ve heard so many great things about it! Also, it’s terrific to be back with the Iron-Man Series,” stated John Schneider. “I cannot wait to get back to Ohio,” Schneider went on to say.

In addition to the Valvoline Late Models and Brucebilt Iron-Man UMP Modifieds will be the Sport Mods and 305 Sprints. The pit gates will open at 2:00 pm, the grandstand gates will open at 4:00 pm, Drivers Meeting slated for 5:45 pm, Hot Laps scheduled for 6:00 pm and racing to follow at 7:00 pm. Ticket prices at the gates will be higher so the track recommends saving money by purchasing them now.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the event on Saturday September 17 and the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1300 anywhere on the car, 1425 as a right-rear option (no limit on tires used) and NO 29.0 size tires on the left rear; the droop rule will be in effect, along with the new standardized 2022 body rules. The entry fee will be $100 per event and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the 22-car starting field will receive $75 tow money.

The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified (UMP) Northern Series will sanction the Open Wheel Modified portion of the program both nights and the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier M30s, M60 (right-rear option only) (grooving and siping of tires are allowed per UMP rulebook; UMP 2022 body rules apply; no limit of tires used per night). The entry fee will be $20 and transponders for timing/scoring purposes will be available for rent at the track.
