Tyler County Speedway Regrettably Cancels Season Opener Once Again

1 min read

Despite the anticipation for Saturday Night’s scheduled season opener featuring the RUSH Late Model Series Tour Opener, Mother Nature has prevailed once again. A heavy rainfall on Thursday, totaling over three inches in the mid-Ohio Valley, that resulted in near-record flooding along the banks of the Middle Island Creek. Consequently, the pit area at America’s Baddest Bullring has found itself submerged, leaving little opportunity for adequate drying after the water recedes before the anticipated event.

“It’s truly disheartening to lose another week of racing,” expressed track promoter John Watson on behalf of the Hometown Racing Association. “We were eagerly anticipating a great turnout for the RUSH Touring Series opener.”

While disappointed by the cancellation, fans and participants can look forward to the return of the RUSH Late Model Touring Series at the ‘Bullring’ later this summer. The series will grace Tyler County Speedway on Thursday Night, July 4th, as part of the Eaton/Childers King of the Ring, and again on Sept. 1st for the Hillbilly 100.

Our focus will now shift to the upcoming Saturday Night, April 20th, where we will showcase the ever-popular ‘Let It Ride 35’ for the Jenkins Auto Parts UMP Modifieds, featuring a $2,500 prize for the winner.
