Monroe Center, OH (June 13, 2025) By Marc Hoegerl: Raceway 7 fans were greeted to the annual Kid’s Autograph Night. After five recorded rain outs, fans would at least get to visit their favorite racers, and take in two features, fighting off persistent rain drops throughout, only to see Mother Nature playing more havoc, washing out the evenings remaining three feature events.

Dorset’s Jacob Wheeler would take the lead at the drop of the green in the 21st Century sponsored Mini Stock 12 lap feature event. Wheeler would hold that point until lap 8 when Jordan Wheeler would make an outside move coming out of turn 2 to take the point. The caution flag would fly on lap 11, seeing both Wheeler’s that were running 1st and 2nd going pit side, giving the lead to 3rd place runner Mike Barr. Barr would lead the field on the restart, only to see 7th place starter Devin Haefke take the lead in a drag race down the backstretch, crossing the line 1st at the checkered to pick up the dramatic win in the 21st Century Mini Stock’s a-main. Erie’s Will Schmid would also get by Barr on the final lap, finishing 2nd. Barr would hold on to 3rd, as Ben Aley and Raceway 7 regular Andy Richards would round out the top 5.

Trumbull County Ohio’s Chas Wolbert’s only concern was fighting the rain drops during the Bonnell’s Truck & RV RUSH Modified feature. Wolbert would go uncontested leading the entire distance to pick up his first Bonnell’s Truck & RV RUSH Modified Raceway 7 feature win of the season. This would also be Wolbert’s 11th career feature win in the class at the Monroe Township oval. Following Wolbert across the line would be, Tiona, PA’s Khole Holden in 2nd, Todd English made the best of his 2 hour and 45 minute haul, finishing 3rd, former track champion Rob Kristyak was 4th, as regular Kyle Martell rounded out the events top 5.

As the Campbell’s Mini Storage UMP Modifieds were getting ready to hit the racing surface for their 20 lap main event, rain started to fall, halting the remainder of the evenings racing events. Make-up features will be scheduled in the weeks to come for the Evergreen Lake Park Campground RUSH Crate Late Models, the Lakeview Ford Econo Mods, and the Campbell’s Mini Storage UMP Modifieds.
