Effective March 29th, Brad McCown, the owner and promoter of Atomic Speedway in Waverly, Ohio has signed a 2-year lease agreement to take over the operations of Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio, the ¼ mile speedway, that was built by Kim and Kevin Moler along with Carolyn and Jerry Moler and opened in 2007. MRP is actually the 2nd racetrack the Moler family has built and operated, the other being the Mt. Orab Speedway back in the 50’s built and operated by Rosemont and Victor “Ike” Moler. The “Ike” Moler Memorial is now one of the Premier Races in the Region!

MRP will see a change in management from the Moler family operations to a team that Brad McCown has assembled for the 2019 season, almost immediately. McCown has a successful history in race promotions which started as the operator of Jackson County Speedway beginning in 2011 before taking over ownership and operations of a shuttered Atomic speedway in 2013, which he has since guided back into one of the premier dirt tracks in America. Brad was also the founder of the successful Buckeye Late Model Dirtweek before selling the rights in late 2017 to focus on track promotions. In taking over the NEW MRP, Brad states, “The Moler family has built and operated a really good racetrack here in Williamsburg and my goal is to take it to the next level and make it a destination for race fans and teams alike from across the country”. With the first race scheduled for April 19th, much work is needed to transition to the new staff, but most importantly we need to let the fans and teams know we are full steam ahead with the 2019 race plans.

While there is no official announcement on specific plans for improvements to the facility everyone can be assured that physical improvements will be a part of the planning process going forward. Besides getting the new operations team into place, the immediate plans call for the seeking of assistance in marketing partnerships varying from simple advertising signage to naming rights opportunities. Any businesses/organizations interested in learning more about these opportunities at the New MRP should contact Brad directly (740) 703-9749 or contact the new management team through their social media contacts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @thenewmrp. Information regarding schedule, payout structure and available job opportunities will be posted at those sites following this announcement.
