(Kerens, W.V. 06-01-19) Friday Night Thunder once again filled the valley at Elkins Raceway as racing night #3 gets into the record books.

In the Jenkins Ford Super Late Models, Shane Hitt circled the 3/8 mile oval the fastest with a lap of 14.335 seconds Just a tick off the track record of 14.127. After Logan Hitt and Paul Wilmoth Jr. scored prelim honors, the invert four was drawn and beneficiary was Shane Hitt. Hitt blasted to the lead and never looked back as he made his second trip to victory lane. Cody Hardesty would finish a distant second. Billy Holbert, Paul Wilmoth Jr., and Bob Gordon (in his first outing of the year) rounded out the top five.

The Budweiser Fastrak Late Models signed in 16 crate motored machines. The first 17 laps were ran caution free as Trey Watson was able to fend off all comers. When the checkers fell, the Sam Watson Trucking #T17 nabbed his first win of the year. Troy Frazier crossed the stripe in second. Garrett Jones (his best finish), A J Spagnuolo, and Donnie Dotson were third through fifth.

Another good field of UMP Modifieds saw last weeks runnerup Mike Murphy take command early after pole setter Phill Jeffries slipped off the embankment of turn two. Murphy could put his S & S Enterprises #22M just about anywhere he wanted. After chasing Daniel Hill last week, he had the entire field chasing him this week. Jamie McCloud applied some pressure but could not make a serious bid. Jeffries would finish third. Dave Defibaugh was fourth and Matthew Chenoweth was fifth.

James Swenskie grabbed his second straight Holbrooks On The Hill Street Stock feature. Although it wasn’t quite that easy. Following Josh Rovello until a lap 15 restart, Swenskie driving the B & N Trucking / Frosty’s Pre Owned Autos #61C made his move and secured the win. Jamie Keene would also get by Rovello for second. Jason Ammons and Chris McDonald were forth and fifth.

In both the Mini Mods Juniors and Seniors were a three peat. Juniors; Brad Currence, Kolby Sullivan, Cole Tasker. Seniors; Noah Whited, Gunner Binns, Brett Howell, Jakob Barrett.
