WHEELERSBURG, OH-An action packed spring of racing action continues at the Southern Ohio Speedway this Friday, April 25th following a record breaking weekend to start the season. This Friday will feature Road to the Southern 100 Race #2 with a racing card of Super Late Models-$2,000 to win, Modifieds, GCP Engines Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, and Enduros.

Super Late Model Preview
The action will be hot and heavy in the Super Late Models this Friday as it will be the final Super Late Model race before the 19th Annual Southern 100 next Friday, May 2nd. In addition to the $2,000 top prize, a provisional starting position into the 19th Annual Southern 100 will be on the line. The driver highest in points after Friday’s races that does not make it into the Southern 100 A-Main will earn a provisional starting position into the feature. That will be worth a minimum of $500.

The other big storyline going into the April 25th races rides on the momentum streak that two racers have carried from the end of the 2013 season to the start of the 2014 season. Those two racers are Jackie Boggs and Delmas Conley. Jackie Boggs dominated the last race of the 2013 season and dominated last weekend. Boggs also shattered the track record by turning a lap over 4/10ths a second faster than the old track record set by Mike Marlar. Delmas Conley finished second the last two races he entered in 2013 and finished second last weekend.

Modified Preview
Jeremy Rayburn, the winningest Modified driver in SOS history, continued where he’s left off the past couple of years by claiming the big Modified win on Opening Night last weekend. After coming off of a career season last year, Brian Skaggs was also extremely fast on Opening Night as he placed in the second position. Youngster Luke Jordan came home in third last week. A great show is expected again this Friday, April 25th as Modified drivers prepare for their big $1,000 to win show on May 2nd.

GCP Engines Sport Mod Preview
Emily Jordan became the first female driver to win a feature at SOS last season and continued on that on Opening Night as she took the big feature win over last year’s track champion Danny Hamilton. The Whitt racing team ran strong as Tony Sr. ran third and Tony Jr. ran fourth while 2012 track champion Eric Dennison finished fifth. Steve Cruse, in his first time ever running the class, won a heat race and challenged for the lead early before suffering a DNF. Sport Mod drivers will also be preparing for a big show on May 2nd as that event will pay them $500 to win.

Pure Stock Preview
Lamar Murdock took his second career SOS Pure Stock win last week with last year’s track champion Barry Brisker finishing second. More Pure Stocks are expected to be out at the track this Friday.

Enduro Preview
Justin Miller won another exciting Enduro last weekend. The Enduro class is always entertaining and is sure to put on a great show this weekend.
