Jamison, Hamilton, Duderstadt and Evans Pick Up Wins At Brushcreek

(Peebles,OH) The long off season finally concluded Saturday night with the 14th Season Opener at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex. The valley filled with the sound of horsepower as cars finally hit the track for the first race event of 2014. As the night air cooled off the racing action heated up the track. Every driver was looking to pick up the first win of 2014 but only few would be victorious. After the four wide salute to the fans the drivers headed back to the pit area to prepare for racing action.
The first cars on track for 2014 were the stock four cylinder division known as the Crazy Compacts. Randy Johnson won his heat race putting him on the GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERApole position for the feature but Stacy Evans was looking to knock him off. At the drop of the green Johnson jumped out to the early lead leaving Tommy Stout and Stacy Evans to battle for second. Evans finally cleared Stout and set his sights on Johnson. Shortly after he began his pursuit Randy Johnson’s number 84 car slowed due to a flat right rear tire. This left Stacy Evans out front and in clean air. Evans cruised to his first career win followed by Kelly Young, Kevin Howell, Jesse Taylor and Tommy Stout.
The newly sponsored Hidden Gem Web Designs Sport Mods hit the track next to show their strength. Danny Hamilton was looking to pick his dominance up that he left in 2013 but 9 Year Old Harrison Hall was out to shut him down. As the race began Hamilton pulled out front with hall hot on his heels. Hall tried to find the perfect line to chase down Hamilton but it was to no avail. Danny Hamilton won the first race of 2014 for the Hidden Gem Web Designs Sport Mods followed by Harrison Hall, Eric Dennison, Tyler Smith and Derek Richmond.
Modified were next on the schedule with their 20 Lap Feature. Dave Jamison jumped out early with Brian Skaggs in the #20 following close. Skaggs was working high and low but couldn’t seem to make the pass work. A late race caution gave Skaggs one last shot at Jamison. When they dove off into turn one Brian Skaggs shot low but just couldn’t get the traction on the bottom of the track. Dave Jamison picked up the win followed by Brian Skaggs, Mike Gross, Rusty Hampton and Jason Bilyeu.
The final class to take the track was the Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Cars. Steve Duderstadt and Jerren Perdue won their heat races and were the front row starters. Perdue picked up the non-points win at Jackson County Speedway the week before and was looking to back it up again. For the early laps of GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAthe race, Duderstadt logged laps, just riding behind Perdue. As the laps wound down Duderstadt knew it was time to go and the action heated up. Slide jobs were thrown between both drivers but in the end Steve Duderstadt won the duel to pick up his first career win. Due to a failure in post race technical inspection by Jerren Perdue the remainder of the top five were Derek Minshew, Tom Partin, John Gutman and Rob Puckett.
Brushcreek Motorsports Complex will be back in action this Saturday May 10th with the OVSCA 410 Sprint Cars!
