Conneaut, OH (May 29, 2015): Former three-time tour champion Bryan Howland dominated the wreck-strewn 25-lap main event for the Patriot Sprint Tour at Raceway 7 Friday night, capturing the e 24th time in tour history, second only to Chuck Hebing, a former winner at Raceway 7 as well. At the end of a long evening made even longer by a power outage on part of the facilities apparently caused by an electrical storm during the week, other winners included Chad Wright in the Evergreen Lake Park CARS Late Model feature for the fourth time this season, Ken Zimmer’s second trip to Victory Lane in the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mod finale, Brandon Groters third triumph in the Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stocks, Jace Ferringer’s second in the Bonnell auto Sales Economods, and defending champion Dale Fraschetti’s second win in the Specialty Products Mini Stocks feature.

The Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stocks were the first feature on the track with defending champion Chris Withers on the pole and two-time winner Brandon Groters outside. At the end of one lap Groters was on his way to win number three. Withers, Chris Hochschild, Jamie Duncan, and Shaun Fawcett followed in the early going. At lap five Duncan spun in turn one, bringing caution over the field. At green Hochschild immediately came to second but Withers had regained the spot after one more lap of green. At eight complete Fawcett had come to fourth but Mark Frontera came back by at the end of nine. Frontera then got by Hochschild before the checkers flew. The top five at the finish were Groters, Withers, Frontera, Hochschild, and Fawcett.

The Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods took to the track with Bud Watson and Mike Potosky on the front row. Watson led the way over Potosky, Ken Zimmer, Brent Rhebergen, and Bill Taylor until caution flew at lap three when Jesse Gould spun in turn three with Josh McDonald spinning to avoid contact. At the end of four laps Potosky was even with Watson at the line. Coming to the conclusion of lap five the two leaders got together at the flag with Watson getting some air time and both suffering enough damage to end their evening. Ken Zimmer led the field back to green with Rhebergen second, Troy Carr third, and points leader Percy McDonald fourth with Bill Taylor fifth. At halfway Dan McDonald had moved into fifth. At thirteen laps complete Chuck Steinle Jr slowed to a stop in turn one. Under caution former champion Joel Watson pulled pit side. Zimmer again brought the race to the green with Rhebergen again second. On lap eighteen Joe DeFazio got to third but Zimmer was on his way to his second feature win of the season over Rhebergen, DeFazio, Troy Carr, and Dan McDonald.

The Patriot Sprint Group made its annual visit to Raceway 7 with nineteen cars making the tow to the farthest west the series races. Joe Trenca and Bryan Howland led the way with caution falling at turn two when Steve Glover slammed the wall. When the race resumed two more cars spun at turn two. The third attempt at racing was successful with Howland leading the way at the end of one lap. Trenca was second with Steve Hutchinson third, Sammy Reakes IV fourth, and C J Cross fifth through the early stages. When the leaders got to lapped traffic Howland weaved his way through traffic with Trenca holding second with Reakes third and Hutchinson fourth. Howland was the leader for the restart with Trenca still second, Reakes third, CJ Cross now fourth and Jared Zimbardi fifth. At the final turn Lyon got by Henry for the runner-up position as Wright won his fourth feature of the season with Lunger fourth and Latta fifth. The race went green to checkers with no caution.

Former champion Bud Sergeff led the Specialty Products Mini Stock feature from the drop of the green over defending champion Dale Fraschetti with Mitchell Stokes third. Fraschetti took over at the competition of five laps, then went on to his second win of the season. When the checkers fell on the caution free event it was Fraschetti over Stokes, who got by Sergeff on the final turn, with points leader Brad Cole fourth and Jason Easler fifth.

The Bonnell’s Auto Sales Economods had defending champion Josh Ferry on the pole with the veteran Chuck Steinle Sr alongside. Ferry led from the drop of the green flag but Eric Reinwald looped his mount in turn four, collecting Russ Kapalin in the process.
