WHEELERSBURG, OH-History will be made at the Southern Ohio Speedway on Saturday, October 10th with the grand opening of the newly configured speedway for MTS Ambulance Meet The Drivers Night! On the racing card will be Late Models-$1,500 to win, $175 to start, Modifieds-$600 to win, $100 to start, Sport Mods-$500 to win, $40 to start, and Enduros which will pay $250 to win for 19 or less cars, $500 to win for 20-29 cars, and $750 to win for 30 or more cars.

New Track Configuration
Lots of work has went on at the speedway since the first of July to completely reconfigure the speedway. The new track is now shorter with all of the shortening done in turns 1 and 2 and now has progressive banking in turns 1 and 2. Turn 3 and 4 was left the same. During the Test N’ Tune on September 5th the new track received great reviews as it looks like the new configuration is going to produce some great racing.

Meet The Drivers Activities
During intermission, all cars will be brought on the frontstretch and fans will be allowed to come out on the track for a special meet and greet session with their favorite drivers! To help celebrate the fall season, we are asking all race teams to bring candy with them and make it a “Trick or Treat Meet The Drivers Session” for the kids.

Other Fall Activities
There will also be some other fall activities for the kids on October 10th. Any kid wearing a Halloween costume will receive $1 off general admission. There will also be some Halloween giveaways for the kids.

Late Model Preview
Premier Physical & Occupational Therapy has came on board to sponsor the Late Model feature to now make it $1,500 to win. Drivers in all divisions will be aiming to be the first driver to win on the new track configuration. Late Models, a stable at SOS during the entire tracks history, will be in action on Saturday. With several tracks in the area not racing Saturday and a purse that pays good through the field, a good field of Late Models is expected to be in attendance. R. J. Conley won the last race on the old configuration, who will win the first race on the new configuration Saturday?

Modified Preview
A strong field of Modifieds is also expected to be in attendance on Saturday. Again with several tracks in the region not racing Saturday, the track has received a lot of interest from a lot of Modified teams. On the old configuration no driver won more races than Jeremy Rayburn during the modern era. Will Rayburn pick up where he left off and win the first race on the new track? That will be one of the storylines everyone will be watching on Saturday.

Sport Mod Preview
Saturday will feature a special event for the Sport Mod division as it will pay $500 to win with increased money also from 2nd on back. The Sport Mods, a class that originated in this area at SOS, have been one of the biggest classes at the track and have produced some of the best racing. With a rules change allowing Bert transmissions and quick change rear ends, that is expected to help draw even more cars. 12-15 Sport Mods were in attendance at last Saturday’s Test N’ Tune to prepare for this weeks special.

Enduro Preview
Saturday has the potential to be the richest Enduro purse in track history. It is car count based. If 19 or less cars are in attendance, the Enduro will pay $250 to win. If 20-29 cars are in attendance, the Enduro will pay $500 to win. If 30 or more cars are in attendance, the Enduro will pay $750 to win. The Enduro will run just like past Enduros with a 15 minute endurance segment followed by a 10 lap dash for the win.
