The Legendary Hilltop Speedway in Marietta Ohio is once again set to kick off the 2016 racing season with the highly popular, 3rd Annual Frostbuster Special on Saturday March 19th. The season opening race at Legendary Hilltop has quickly established itself as one of the most exciting early season races across the Ohio Valley region each year. The Frostbuster event will once again be highlighted by the $2,000 to win AMRA Late Model and $1,000 to win AMRA Modified specials, along with racing in all other classes.

The Inaugural Frostbuster race in 2014 was won by Chris Garnes following a very exciting race between he and Butch McGill. In 2015 the race returned with a higher purse and would see young guns Devin Moran and Nick Latham battle door to door in the closing laps and eventually would lead to Latham edging out Moran for the win at the line for the $2,000 to win top prize. In 2015 the AMRA Modifieds were also added to the show, where KC Burdette would outrun the field and score the $1,000 feature win. The anticipation is high as the 2016 running of the Frostbuster Special quickly approaches and is sure to feature another exciting night of racing at the ¼ mile track. With a preseason Test N Tune set for Sunday March 13th, teams will have the opportunity to hit the track just one time before the big event while also preparing themselves for an exciting season of racing at “The Top.”

Following a widely popular 2015 season, Legendary Hilltop is preparing for the tracks 5th season in operation since reopening. Legendary Hilltop is set to take on their most ambitious season yet in 2016, which will feature a wide range of special events that will be kicked off by the Frostbuster special. The staff continues to work to make facility upgrades in preparation of the season, including more lighting, improved guardrail and the plans to add more seating.

If weather forces the Frostbuster to be postponed, the event will then move to the next date on the schedule until the event can be held.

Fans are encouraged to stay connected to Legendary Hilltop’s various social media sources to keep up with the latest news on the Frostbuster event as well as the 2016 racing season.
