The Rick’s Truck & Equipment BOSS sprint car tour is now well into its busiest month of racing in history. Seven races in the month of July on 7 different race tracks in 3 states, with 3 of the 7 hosting their first ever BOSS race. Last weekend, tour regulars Justin Owen and Dustin Smith picked up wins at Lernerville and Pittsburgh to kick things off. However, Mr. Consistent, Shawn Westerfeld, stretched out his points lead with 5th and 2nd place finishes.

Next on the horizon for the wingless warriors is one of the most highly anticipated doubleheaders on the 2016 schedule. Attica Raceway Park last held a wingless sprint car event around 10 years ago when the “Jack Hewitt Challenge” featured non-sanctioned winged and non wing 410 sprint cars. Rob Chaney won both main events that night to collect some major bonus money. Fast forward several years later, the stage is set and Attica Raceway Park is ready to host the warriors from BOSS for the first time ever this Friday night, July 8th.

One day later, the traveling band of real outlaw racers will head southwest to Waynesfield Raceway Park for a staple event on the tour schedule, the annual “Dick Spencer Memorial”. This event produces a great car count every year as WRP has a great following of strong wingless competitors. When combined with the BOSS regulars some 17 strong, fans can expect several heat races!

At Attica Raceway Park, gates will open at 5 pm on Friday with racing at 7:45. Adult general admission is $15 with seniors 62 and over only $13. kids ages 11-15 are $10 while kids 10 and under are free. Pit passes will be $30. Also on the card are the UMP late models along with the 305 winged sprint cars. For teams competing, the transponder rental will be $5 and fuel is available at the track. ARP DOES REQUIRE MUFFLERS on all competing cars. BOSS officials will be checking to make sure all cars have mufflers or muffler inserts.

On Saturday at Waynesfield, pit gates will open at 4 pm with general admission gates opening at 5, hot laps at 6 and racing at 7. Greg Shobe has kept pit passes at a low $25 for this event! General admission is $15 for adults while kids 11-15 is just $6. Children 10 and under are free. For race teams, transponder rental will be $10 and fuel is available at the track. No mufflers are required for this event.

For teams and fans, a special hotel deal is in place with the Howard Johnson in Lima. Longtime sprint car supporter Ron Gorby owns the hotel and makes us the best deal of the year on the nicest hotel we see all season long. When you ask for the BOSS Racer’s Rate, you will get a room for just $66 plus tax. There is a car wash right across from the hotel with several convenient restaurants around. To reserve a room, please call 419-222-0004.

Also, don’t forget, American Racer Tires will be available from APPCO at the Gardner Motorsports trailer. Hoosier teams, you can pre-order tires from Jeff Clouse at Cooper Clouse Racing.

We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend. For more information on BOSS please visit our website at www.buckeyesprints.com. The track websites are found at www.atticaracewaypark.com and www.waynesfieldmotorsportspark.com
