BOSS Set To Invade Wayne County Speedway

This Saturday, August 13th, the Rick’s Trucks & Equipment / Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series will roll into Wayne County Speedway near Orrville, Ohio. The 3/8 mile dirt oval was the site of the second ever BOSS event in 2011 and it has played host to the tour events more than any other race track.

Shawn Westerfeld of Guilford, Indiana holds a comfortable points lead but a pair of young guns are well within striking distance. Cooper Clouse of Ohio City, Ohio and Justin Owen of Harrison, Ohio have traded the runner-up spot a few times this season. Not far back from that duo is the pair of Chad Wilson from Toledo and Cincinnati’s Michael Fischesser who have been trading the 4th spot repeatedly.

The balance of the top 10 includes Cody Gardner, Aaron Middaugh, Andy Feil, Steve Little, and Stratton Briggs. Rounding out the top 15 are Mike Miller, Bob McMillin, Joe Butera, Dustin Smith and Bobby Distel.

Saturday’s event at Wayne County offers fans a unique opportunity to catch the BOSS series in action along with 2 other premiere divisions. The regular 410 wing sprints will also be in competition along with the RUSH late models and Super Stocks. Adult general admission is just $15 while ages 12 and under are free. Pit passes will be $30 with kids pit passes just $15 for ages 6-14. Children 5 and under a free in the pits.

Gates will open at 3 pm with hot laps at 6 and racing at 7 pm. Fuel is available at the track and mufflers are mandatory for this event. All competing cars will be checked prior to heat races. Wayne County Speedway’s scoring system picks up several different types of transponders. There will be transponders available to rent for $10 from the track.
