(Peebles, OH) As everyone feels the temperatures cooling down and sees the trees changing colors that only means one thing, the end of another race season. Saturday October 12th was the final race at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex for 2013. Some drivers were trying to wrap up championships while others were looking to just pick up final wins of the season. As the cars hit the track, the sun was going down on the final race night of 2013.

The Crazy Compacts were the first cars to hit the speedway for their final feature of the season. Randy Johnson and Stacey Evans lead the field to the green flag. As the green flag waived Johnson jumped out early as Evans battled with Keith Anderson for second. Anderson and Evans battled for several laps until Evans spun on the back stretch. This brought out the caution with two laps to go. On the restart Keith Anderson had his radar on the leader Randy Johnson. In the closing moments Anderson got around Randy Johnson to pick up the feature win! Randy Johnson sealed up the 2013 Crazy Compact Championship.

The PF2 Trucking Sport Mods rolled on to the track for the final time of the year. At the drop of the green flag Chris Shelton jumped out to the early lead but it didn’t take Danny Hamilton long to rein him back in. Once Hamilton cleared Shelton he never looked back. With the feature win Danny Hamilton wrapped up the first Sport Mod Championship at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex. Track owner Tom Partin announced at the drivers meeting that the Sport Mods would return for a second full season in 2014.

The Modifieds hit the track next. The green flag flew over the front row consisting of Dave Jamison and Rusty Hawes. Dave Jamison took off early but Hawes didn’t make it easy on him. Rusty Hawes kept close to Jamison the entire race. As the laps wound down Hawes knew he had to do something. Hawes made one last ditch effort but could not do anything with Jamison. Dave Jamison picked up the feature win but Shaun Scott picked up his first Modified Track Championship. Shaun Scott announced that this was his final season of racing. We would like to wish Shaun a farewell from everyone at BMC!

The Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Cars were the final cars on the track. Derek Minshew and Jerren Perdue lead the field to the green. Perdue wasted no time taking the lead and running with it. Jerren Perdue picked up yet another feature win along with his first championship in a legend car. Josh Francis also won the special “Guaranteed First Time Winner” race.
