(Middlebourne, WV) The Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour presented by Arizona Sports Shirts is anxious to announce it has revamped it’s Mid-Ohio Valley area season opening weekend. The tours third season in operation will once again dub its WV-OH area opener as “Monster Modified Weekend”, appropriately named from the get-go when the tours first ever event under the ‘Monster Modified Weekend’ title held a monstrous fifty plus car field back in 2012 at the Hilltop Speedway. The opener for the tour in the Mid-Ohio Valley draws a unique atmosphere like none other as modified racers from all over the area gear up after a long winter for the high paying weekend.

The nation’s fastest growing modified tour will now see a pair of race nights during the April Mid-Ohio Valley lid lifter, an although it will mark the third and fourth touring shows of 2014 it is guaranteed to still have that “new season” excitement. The duo of main events are now set for a week earlier on April 18th and 19th as a result the April 26th show has been scratched. As part of the “Monster Modified Weekend” revamp, the weekend will now feature events at both the Tyler County Speedway and the Hilltop Speedway. The change will also bring along the possibility of one driver winning $5,000 dollars that weekend if he/she takes it to victory lane both nights. Traveling racers will also now earn a minimum $350 dollars if they start both shows and tow money will now double as well for non-qualifiers that weekend, all in all easing the expense burden of the weekend trip.

The “Monster Modified Weekend” will still see the Renegades of Dirt do battle at “The Bullring” for a history making event on Friday night April 18th at the Tyler County Speedway. History is set to be made when the ¼ mile dirt oval in Middlebourne, WV plays host to the tour for its first ever “Friday Night Lights” edition of motorsports action that isn’t part of a two or three day weekend at the track. The tour will now run a firm 30 Lap, $2000 to win, $150 to start A-Main when activities get underway on April 18th replacing the twin feature concept that was on the docket for the 26th. Again, the Renegades of Dirt event for Tyler Co. is now moved from April 26th to April 18th. The special ‘Friday Night Lights’ event at the Tyler County Speedway will also feature the entertaining FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series for a $1,500 to win, 30 lap Invitational. Also on the history making Friday night card will be the Super Late Models, EDGE Hotmods, ModLites, 4Cylinders, and MWRA Mini-Wedges.
Furthermore, with the revamped edition of the 2014 “Monster Modified Weekend”, Hilltop Speedway will once again join the Mid-Ohio Valley opening weekend double header in which its been part of for each of the tours first two seasons. Lance Elson captured the tours 2012 event and Jesse Wisecarver earned the win in 2013. The exciting change to the weekend of events will also allow the winners purse to heat up the cool April night, marking the largest purse paid in April for the tour with a 30 lap $3,000 to win, $200 to start main event on tap for Saturday night April 19th. The $3000 top prize will also mark the largest one day winners reward for the Modified division at the Millersburg, OH dirt oval. Hilltop Speedway has also finalized September 12th and 13th for the annual “Weekend on the Hill”, which will again showcase the Renegades of Dirt both days. The two day fall event will feature a two day, two complete show format in 2014 with $1000 going to Friday nights winner and a generous $2000 being paid to the winner of the Saturday finale. More information on the April 19th show will be announced soon and will be available on the tracks website at www.hilltopspeedway.org.
“We are happy to allow Hilltop Speedway the opportunity to be part of the Renegade of Dirt Tour’s opening weekend in the Ohio Valley” stated TCS promoter, John Watson. “We’ve been pondering an early ‘Friday Night Lights’ special event, there’s an intriguing thought of doing something different like this and we are excited to give it a shot” added Watson. “We think there will be a uniqueness and exciting feel to doing a Friday night early in the year and teaming up with a Saturday night venue. With little competition the fans are in for a great show, it should be on of those rare nights when anyone and everyone could show up to race…which should make for a great night of action” concluded Watson.

“This is an exciting game changer for that weekend” stated, Cody Watson. “We are always looking out for our promoter and racers, when the possibility came along to allow back to back nights and double the purse [with the $3000 dollar show now added] it was easy to make the decision to revamp the weekend and I think our racers will appreciate the opportunity as well” added Watson. “Hilltop Speedway has always drawn a lot of cars and I feel like it should be more of the same this season, travelers can feel much more at ease having a chance to earn more money that weekend” continued Watson. “I want to thank both promoters for working together, that’s what it takes to make this all work, both had the idea to make the weekend big for our drivers and their fans and I feel this was accomplished and should be commended” finished Watson.
With the first of February now upon us the Renegades of Dirt have decided to solidify their schedule for the upcoming season as it stands. The only other changes that could happen is if a tour date has been canceled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances that dictate the date absolutely must be changed. In the future any other events that have the potential to be added to the schedule, the racers of the tour will be contacted for approval. The event will then only be scheduled if its accepted by at least ninety percent of the tour’s regular members. A complete 2014 schedule can be found at www.renegadesofdirt.com.
