Joel Watson took home the $800 last night at Raceway 7

Conneaut, OH (July 11, 2014: State Farm Insurance was the title sponsor for the $800 to win special for the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods with Joel Watson taking home the cash and the trophy.

Watson took over at the front of the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods pack on lap three and cruised to his second win of the season. Dennis Lunger led every lap enroute to his third Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models feature win of the season. Chris Withers started on the front row of the Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks feature and immediately sped off to his fourth win of the season, trying to repeat his championship title. Josh Ferry registered a convincing win, his third of the season, in the Zimmer Service Center Economods feature, taking over at the front from Rick Prosser with two laps remaining. Dale Fraschetti prevailed in a wild finish to the Specialty Products Mini Stocks feature, his third of the year and second in a row.

Extra cash for the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods was on the line courtesy of State Farm Insurance for the twenty-five lap special. Dan Davies started the event from the pole with the veteran Bill Taylor alongside. Davies led from the drop of the green with Joel Watson second. Watson went by Davies on the back stretch of lap three but the leaders were side by side at the end of the lap. At halfway Watson led Brent Rhebergen, Gary Eicher, Davies, and Mike Potosky. Eicher got by Rhebergen after running alongside for four laps at lap 18 then caution flew, erasing a half straight lead for Watson. Rhebergen got back to second at green setting the finish as Watson, Rhebergen, Eicher, Davies, and Josh McDonald, who came to fifth with three to go.

The Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks were led to the green by Mark Frontera and Chris Withers with Withers leading the way from the green. The defending champion was never challenged, leading every lap on his way to his fourth win of the season in the all-green race, lengthening his points lead. Frontera was second with Ed Bolyard, Ron Boardman, and Kenny Lamp filling out the top five.

Dennis Lunger and Darrell Bossard led the Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models to the green with opening night winner Lunger leading Bossrard from the start. At halfway Lunger had near quarter lap lead over Bossard with Matt Latta third, defending champion Chad Wright fourth and Kyle Zimmerman fifth. At lap thirteen caution was shown, eliminating Lunger’s lead. After green for one lap another caution was necessary with Max Blair now up to fifth. Latta got to second at lap fifteen but Lunger was on his way to his third feature win of the season. Latta settled for second with Wright third, Bossrd fourth and Zimmerman getting back by Blair on the final run out of turn four to the checkers for fifth.

Three-time winner Steve Burns and single winner Rick Prosser started the Zimmer Service Center Economods feature on the front row with Burns leading to turn one then giving way to Prosser. Josh Ferry, looking for feature win number three on the season, came to second at lap two. At lap six Prosser and Ferry were nearly even at the stripe with Prosser having a slight lead. Four cars spun in turn two slowing the event. Burns came back to second at the restart but Prosser was opening his lead. Ferry got back to second at ten laps in but another yellow slowed the event at lap twelve. With two laps remaining Ferry got by Prosser just prior to the final caution period. Ferry went on to his third win of the season with Prosser second, Brandon Blackshear third, Burns fourth, and Russ Kapalin fifth. Kapalin collected an extra $50 Gift Certificate from Speedway Motors of Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Specialty Products Mini Stocks finished their night with John Boyd and Dylan Goodman leading the way to the green. Goodman led the way after battling Boyd side by side most of lap one. Last week’s winner Dale Fraschetti came to second at lap four after starting tenth and started chasing down the leader. At seven laps complete Alex Siekkenin slid into the turn one fence bringing yellow over the field. Yellow again flew at lap nine setting up a three lap dash to the checkers. With two to go Fraschetti got by Goodman, then Sergeff and Stokes also got by Goodman. Fraschetti wound up with his third win of the season after a wild last turn battle with Sergeff. Mitch Stokes wound up third, Goodman fourth, and Jason Easler. The Specialty Products extra cash went to Hoyt Mihalak.
