Big Block Modifieds Return To Raceway 7

Conneaut, OH (July 15, 2014): The BRP Big Block Modified Tour will be at a Raceway 7 this week for their first appearance since 2005 when Todd Burley claimed the win. Rex King Jr currently leads the standings with Brad Rapp only two points back and Dave Murdick eight points from the lead.

In the regular Raceway 7 classes defending Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models champion Chad Wright currently holds a strong 51-point edge on Matt Latta with another 31 back to Darrell Bossard. Wright has three wins on the season while. Matts and Bossard each have one.

Gary Eicher, with two feature wins, leads reigning champion Joel Watson by 68 points. Watson also has two wins but missed a week early in the season. Former champion Percy McDonald, opening night winner, is third, another 54-points back.

Defending champion Chris Withers is leading the Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks by 25 points over former champion Ed Bolyard. Each has three wins and are each near the front of the field every week. Jimmy Kennerknecht has been close to the front each week but has yet to make the trip to the Winner’s Circle in 2014. Only 35 points separate Kennerknecht for the second spot.

On the strength of three wins and top finishes Steve Burns holds a healthy 71 point margin over Josh Ferry, also a three time winner in the Zimmer Service Center Economods. Ferry however, failed to start one feature, costly in the season points rankings. Ferry holds a 35 point edge over former champion Brandon Blackshear, a winner once in 2014.

After a wild finish last week at the end of the Specialty Products Mini Stocks feature Dale Fraschetti had his third win of the season and the championship points lead by a slim four points over 2012 champion Bud Sergeff. Jason Easler Eler is 47 points back of Sergeff.

Weather permitting, gates open every Friday at 5:30 PM with pill draw cut off at 7 PM and racing at 7:30 PM. VIP suites are available for rental for $250 a night which includes eight general admissions passes. Admission is set for $15 for adults for this special event, kids 7-14 are $5.
