(Peebles, OH) A day threatened by rain turned into a picture perfect evening for racing action. It was Fan Appreciation Night at the Brushcreek Motorsports Complex and all the drivers were looking to show what they had for all the fans! Modified drivers were also tuning for Friday’s Central Star Drilling 25 which pays $1,000 to win. As the sun set the drivers were ready to tear up the track!
Crazy Compacts were on track first. The invert put heat race winner Keith Anderson on the tail of the Feature Lineup. Although he had to fight his way from the back he wasted no time as he made his moves early. Anderson drove straight into victory lane which he became very familiar with in 2014. Anderson’s win made it 3 winners in 3 weeks for the Crazy Compacts! Following Anderson at the finish was Kevin Howell, Devin Puckett, Kelly Young and Clyde Saunders.
Chris Smalley picked up another Southern Ohio Lightning Mini Sprint victory with Matt Mugg winning the SOLMS Dark Horse Dash!
The Hidden Gem Web Designs Sport Mods proved to be an entertaining one as well. Danny Hamilton in his number 99 car jumped out early but was soon trailed closely by Brad McGlone. On a late race restart McGlone made his moving. He threw the car below Hamilton and squeezed his way into the lead! McGlone went on to win the feature event! In victory lane, McGlone said it was an accomplishment in itself just to beat a tough competitor like Hamilton. Following McGlone and Hmilton were Brennan Bobst, Rick Neace and Trent Welage rounding out the top 5.
The Modifieds showed themselves the track next. Jackson, OH driver Aaron Pendleton and Mike Brust had battled all night long and it came down to the feature event. Pendleton jumped out early but Brust was all over him. A couple caution flags allowed for Brust to try the bottom side to make a pass. Mike Brust just couldnt get it done and Aaron Pendleton wound up in victory lane! Following Pendleton was Mike Brust, Chris Shelton, Glenn East and Weston Crosby.
The Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Car series was the final group to hit the track. Rob Puckett and Jerren Perdue lead the field to green. Perdue ran off early and never looked back. Perdue picked up his first OVRLCS win of 2015. Rounding out the top five were Josh Francis, Tom Partin, Steven Partin and Cole DeMint.
