Conneaut, OH (August 4, 2015): Bob and Jackie Vogt were a fixture at Raceway 7 for years and years with Bob always a threat to win any race he started, earning one Raceway 7 championship in his career and always near the front of the field. Jackie was in the tower scoring races and operating the radio for the receivers. Both were highly respected by competitors, fans, promoters, and fellow employees. For the preceding reasons the entire community at Raceway 7 will always remember their contributions to our sport and this week we will honor their memory with a special event for the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mod division with help from Chris Brecht State Farm Insurance Agency in Conneaut, sponsor of this special event.

The feature for the Bob & Jackie Vogt Memorial will have the field set through group time-trials followed by heat races. The top two from each heat will advance to the Bob Vogt Dash to determine the top six starting positions for the feature. The winner of the Bob Vogt Dash will start from the pole position with the second place finisher starting second, the third place finisher starting third, et cetera. Then the third and fourth place finishers from each heat will run the Jackie Vogt Dash to set positions seven through twelve. Twenty-five laps will be the distance for the feature, which will pay $1000 to the winner. Top contenders for the win will include current points leader Percy McDonald, three time 2015 winner Ken Zimmer, currently second in points, three time 2015 winner Brent Rhebergen, Dan McDonald, Chuck Steinle Sr, and several time champion Joel Watson.

Seven times this season Chad Wright has driven his Evergreen Lake Park Campground CARS Crate Late Model to Victory Lane. As dominant as Wright has been, his points lead is only 33-markers over another former champion, Dennis Lunger. Lunger is a three time winner this season, the most recent coming last week. 2014 champion Kyle Zimmerman has one win this season and is another 76-points behind Lunger.

Shaun Fawcett has gone to the Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks Winner’s Circle four times this year and holds a healthy 105 point edge over defending champion Chris Withers, amazingly without a feature win this season. Three-time winner Ed Bolyard is currently third in the season title chase.

Rick Prosser has three wins in the Bonnell Auto Sales Economods division and leads their points over defending champion Josh Ferry, with five wins but also some early season mechanical problems, which seem to be fixed coming into the season home stretch. The points spread from first to second is 56-markers. Eric Reinwald, showing improvement every week, is third but still waiting for his first feature win.

With points leader Brad Cole not finishing the feature last week the race for the Specialty Products Mini Stock Championship has tightened up. 2012 champion Bud Sergeff is now a mere fourteen points behind Cole for the lead. For both he and Cole, the 2013 champion, a win this season would be their second. Jason Easler is only 22-points of the pace set by Cole in his quest for his first-ever championship. This championship will come right down to the final week of racing with only five nights left at this point.

Weather permitting, gates open every Friday at 5:30 PM with pill draw cut off at 7 PM and racing at 7:30 PM. VIP suites are available for rental for $250 a night which includes eight general admissions passes. Admission is set for $10 for adults for this very special memorial event, kids 7-14 are $5. Children 6 and under are free. Pit passes are $25. For more information please visit www.raceway7.com or call the track on race day after 12 noon at 440-594-2222.
