Mod Lites Added To River City Showdown

Legendary Hilltop Speedway officials are proud to announce that the Mod Lites will return to Legendary Hilltop on Saturday June 4th, as the third and final class to be apart of the Inaugural River City Showdown. This one time, stand-alone event will mark the return of the Mod Lites to the 1/4 mile oval outside of Marietta, where they have ran on a limited basis over the past number of seasons.

The decision to add Mod Lites to the Saturday night racing card was based upon the desire to add even more excitement to the evening for race fans, while also allowing for a more structured program where competing teams will have more time to properly prepare for their portion of the evenings racing action. Legendary Hilltop did wish to include more of their weekly classes as apart of the show, however with other tracks across the Ohio Valley running on the same night respectively, the staff at Hilltop chose to not schedule against such efforts. The Mod Lites have been a very exciting class at Hilltop in the past and are expected to be a great addition, due to the Mod Lites high speeds and even higher level of competition.

*Mod Lites will run under the STARS rules package (as done at Tyler County). More tech information will be available closer to the event.

Legendary Hilltop officials wish to thank teams and fans for the continued interest in the River City Showdown and look forward to hosting one of the richest Modified events on the East Coast in 2016!
