Conneaut, OH (June 7, 2016): The McDonald’s Sand and Gravel Mini Stocks take center stage this Friday at Raceway 7 for a $400 to win special with sponsorship by Downes Racing. The front-wheel drive racers have had some extremely exciting finishes this season with three and four wide racing throughout their features. The points battle is showing Jason Easler, a three time feature winner in 2016 currently enjoying a 35-point edge over Hoyt Mihalak. Mihalak has yet to score a feature win this season but is expected to break through for a win on any given week. Two-time and defending champion Bud Sergeff rides third another 52-points back. Sergeff has one win this year, that coming in a wild last lap scramble for the glory. Casey Harmon and Justin Boardman, both winless at this point, ride fourth and fifth. Any of the noted drivers is capable of winning. Andy Proper made his first Raceway 7 Victory Lane visit last week and must be considered among the favorites to win the added purse.

Former class champion Dennis Lunger won his second Evergreen Lake Park Campground CARS Crate Late Model feature last week, but it was a close one! Only 0.015 sec separated him from second place Darrell Bossard, also a feature race winner this season. That amounts to less than a foot at the line! Bossard currently leads Lunger by 31-points in the season standings. Kyle Zimmerman, a former champion and two-time victor this year, is third, another 16 points back. Wendall Pinckney and Breyton Santee, both showing excellent runs this season, fill out the top five.

Joel Watson, with four feature wins in four starts this season, leads the Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mods by fourteen points over Troy Johnson. Johnson, a veteran racer, has shown speed and consistency but hasn’t yet quite been able to post a win. Defending champion Percy McDonald sits third in the standings, 29 behind Johnson. Lunger, racing two classes this summer, is fourth, still looking for his first trip to the E-Mod Winner’s Circle. Class rookie Josh Ferry, a former Economod champion, is fifth. Mike Potosky is also a feature winner this season.

Opening night winner Rob Bates leads the Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stock chase for the championship mantle by an impressive 92-point margin over Chris McGuire, winner the last two weeks. Defending champion Shawn Fawcett has a win and is third in the season standings, another 15 back. Art Gilchrist is fourth with Jimmy Kennerknecht fifth. Don McGuire also has a win this summer.

The Bonnell Auto Group Economods are being paced by defending champion Rick Prosser, a two time winner this season. He holds a 27-point lead over opening night and last week’s winner Steve Haefke. Eric Reinwald is currently third, another 56 markers back. Mike Harmon and Kevin Sergeff are fourth and fifth. Young Tyler Frankenberry is the other feature winner this season and is sixth in the standings.
