(Beckley, West Virginia) The American Motor Racing Association along with the staff at the Beckley Motorsports Park LLC are proud to formally announce that the Beckley Motorsports Park will feature AMRA sanctioned racing in 2017, as the track will host AMRA Late Models and AMRA Modifieds throughout the upcoming season. While the AMRA Late Models will compete on a semi-regular basis, the always exciting AMRA Modifieds are set to do battle as apart of the track’s weekly racing program in 2017. With Beckley’s long history of exciting action and the high octane racing that the AMRA divisions produce, fans are sure to see their share of great racing all throughout the racing season!

After setting dormant for the better part of the past two racing seasons, the renamed ‘Beckley Motorsports Park’ looks bring the excitement of dirt track racing back to the town of Beckley West Virginia this spring. Operating under the new leadership of Robert Mooney whom acquired the property in late 2016, the 3/8th mile oval known for it’s exciting racing and unique facility layout, looks to not only recapture the excitement of the speedway’s past, but also build for the future and establish Beckley Motorsports Park as one of the finest tracks within the region.

With AMRA Late Model and AMRA Modified competitors familiar to Beckley such as the likes of Garnes, Pritchard and Moore along with many others, not only be able to compete at Beckley and receive valuable AMRA National Championship points at each race, but AMRA drivers will also be able to compete for their shot at the AMRA’s annual points fund which exceeds $50,000 cash annually. The longstanding sanctioning body looks forward to not only seeing Beckley Motorsports Park reopen, but also looks to build a long relationship amongst the track, fans and competitors as the AMRA’s presence continues to grow in the southern portion of West Virginia.

As apart of the tracks efforts to reopen, Robert Mooney and staff have been hard at work over the winter months making numerous facility improvements including additional clay, a new infield layout, safety improvements and of course updating fan amenities. By all accounts, the effort to reopen has been nothing short of impressive thus far, and fans are sure to see quite the difference as they walk through the gates for the first time in April.

Now focusing on more than just traditional stock car racing, the track’s new management looks to focus more upon the “motorsports park” aspect of Beckley. With plans to host ‘Mud Slings’ on the property throughout the year, along with flea markets and other options in the mix, the staff at Beckley look to provide fans and teams with a full season of excitement and a diverse schedule of motorsports action for all.

In addition to the AMRA classes, Beckley will host racing in the Fastrak Crate Late Models, Pure Stocks/Street Stocks, U-Cars and more throughout the season. The track’s 2017 schedule of events is nearing completion and will be available soon.
