On May 12th Princeton Speedway will welcome The Capitol Renegade United Racing Club Sprint Car Series to the speedway for the first time in the series 71 year history. One local sprint car enthusiast excited for the news, Dale Smith, stated, “URC is the oldest sprint car club in the USA.” This series brings a lot of history to Princeton Speedway as they make their first ever trip to the Mountain State’s most southern track. Series Vice President, Curt Michael, states, “Racers are excited to race at a track they haven’t been to before in their 71 year history.”

Michael went on to say “The Capital Renegade United Racing Club has been to the West Virginia four previous times with two trips to Beckley and two trips to West Virginia Motor Speedway, (one event in which he participated), in 1997.”

The series is filled with drivers known in the sprint car racing world as the “Pennsylvania Posse.” Some of the best sprint car drivers in the world will be on hand to compete at the “D-Shaped” Princeton Speedway. Michael himself, for example, boasts wins at some of the most well known sprint car tracks such as Williams Grove Speedway. The drivers making the trip for this race will be some of the best out there in sprint car racing. Smith also stated, “URC has a good group of drivers in good equipment.”

This is not a show anyone will want to miss, so mark your calendars and plan to come early for this event!
