(Middlebourne, WV) – Only nine weeks remain in the countdown for the return of the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour in 2019. “The Boys Are Back” and the prestigious $10,000 to win North Carolina Modified Nationals awaits to kick it all off March 14th – 16th. Eleven nights are inked presently with one or two events awaiting confirmation soon. Releasing arguably one of the tours best schedules ever as it relaunches for its seventh season after sitting idol in 2018. The Renegades are back under the ownership of the (EDGE) whom ran the tour from 2012 through 2017.

Four states; West Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Ohio will witness touring events in 2019. Four tracks will also host the series for the very first time. Fayetteville Motor Speedway graciously plays guest to the season opener for two nights during the ‘NC Nationals’ in March before the tour takes to the Tyler County Speedway on Sat. April 6th for the lucrative “Let It Ride 55” paying $3,555 to win. From there a highly anticipated Pennsylvania road trip will see the tour visit Bedford Speedway on May 17th and Dog Hollow Speedway on May 18th for one of the states biggest Modified weekends and $2,000 to win nightly.

On May 30th – June 1st the Renegades will reconvene on “The Bullring” for the crown jewel of Eastern U.S. Modified racing, the ‘MEGA 100!’ Undoubtedly the largest event on the East Coast the ‘Mega 100’ enters year five and will once again pay out $15,000 to win with over $60,000 in total modified purse.

A huge Independence Day weekend sits next up as the travelers trek the turnpike for a triple header of events including a first ever stop at Beckley Motorsports Park for a $4,000 to win pay day during the “Rock and Roll 40” on Thursday July 4th. From there the tour once more heads to Middlebourne, WV for the decade plus old “Dickson Classic” featuring a $2,000 to win showdown on the ¼ mile Tyler Co. Speedway on Friday July 5th. A Saturday event to conclude the weekend is in the works with an announcement forth coming.

The tour then takes a likely needed summer breather as it slows from July until mid September where it heats right back up for the monstrous “Modified Mayhem” weekend at Jackson Co. Speedway on September 20th for $1,500 to win prior to heading to Atomic Speedway on September 21st for a $5,000 to win main event. Lastly, the tour is planning an event in mid October with details nearing completion. It is to note that although a few events are still TBA no more than fifteen events will be scheduled.

Furthermore, the Renegades of Dirt is excited to announce its new 2019 Championship format. Racers will compete throughout the season at touring events with a racers top 12 nights only being counted towards the tours points chase. Therefore, upon schedule completion to approximately fourteen-fifteen nights a racer will be allowed to “throw away” his/her worst finishes of the season after completion of their twelve counted events or any event they were unable to be in attendance for. In the case of multiple rain outs the series reserves the right to push the counted races to ten if necessary.

In addition, the Renegades of Dirt are very excited to announce a unique, new proponent to the Championship standings. Introducing the new “Hometown Hero” portion to the season championship which requires Renegade racers to participate in at least five events at any one track. A racer will take their top five race nights from any one designated track (the five can include Renegade sanctioned events) and these events will each count towards their championship standings worth half of a touring points night. Therefore, “Hometown Hero” points will be worth an additional 2.5 shows towards a racers year end standings pushing the total to 14.5 counted race nights for the 2019 Championship Crown. Any track is eligible to be a racers “hometown hero” track regardless of their sanction or if they host a RoDT race. The top three drivers in “Hometown Hero” points will also be awarded additional points fund at years end with $1,000 going to the winner, $300 for second, and $200 for third. In the event three or more drivers tie or max out (5) wins the drivers total touring point standings will be used to determine the “Hometown Hero” rankings for monetary purposes.

“Weekly racing is very important to us” stated tour director, Cody Watson. “Without healthy tracks and healthy weekly events the series doesn’t succeed. We want to use the tour as a tool for strengthening modified racing nationally yes but as a whole on the grassroots weekly level also” added Watson. “We can’t look past making sure our cars are helping and supporting weekly racing instead of just racing with us twelve times a year. I believe this championship format shows our commitment to our host facilities / regions overall success all season and our effort to ensure our drivers remain Hometown hero’s with local fan bases ” continued Watson. “Lastly, I think it is a great opportunity to increase our teams reach and exposure as well as meeting new fans with the potential to promote upcoming Renegade events at their track or nearby venues” concluded Watson.
