STRONGSTOWN, PA (June 1, 2019) – Mahaffey’s Rick Wicker won his first Iron Horse Salvage 358 Semi Late Feature Saturday night at Dog Hollow Speedway. Greg Blystone picked up his career first Dog Hollow win in the exciting AMSOIL Pure Stock feature. The 358 Modified Tour completed three laps before the rains come down hard making racing impossible. The four make up features will be rescheduled.

Sam McAdams and Bill Mumau led the 15 lap AMSOIL Pure Stock feature to the green. McAdams, making his first start of the season, led the two laps. Brad Benton led lap three but it was McAdams on lap four. The see-saw battle continued with Benton regaining the top spot to lead laps five and six. Greg Blystone had a birdseye view and took second from McAdams on lap six. On a restart the following lap Blystone shot to the point as McAdams car began to fade eventually pulling to the infield. Blystone and Benton started to pull away while Duke Davidson slowly worked his way to third. A yellow appeared on lap 14 and closed up the field. It was a three car shoot out that saw the race going 17 laps due to a couple more cautions. When the checker flew it was Blystone taking the win halting Brad Benton’s two race win streak. Benton was a close second over Duke Davidson, Mike Ball, Joe Kephart, Tyler Blystone, Dillon Smith, Corey Jones, Tyler Fulton and Jim Miller. Heats were won by Davidson and McAdams.

In the Iron Horse Salvage 358 Semi Late feature it was all Rick Wicker. Wicker led all 18 laps to earn his first win in the class at Dog Hollow and his second win of the weekend. Jeff Sweeney stayed within striking distance and settled for second over Shane Nihart, Chad Helman, Gary Stitt, Bill Burns and Caleb Whiteford. Sweeney won the lone heat.

A light sprinkle had started with a couple laps to go in the 358 Semi Late feature. The 358 Modified Tour feature was quickly brought out and was only able to complete three laps before the track became to slick to compete on. The remaining feature will all be made up in the coming weeks.

Jeff Shaffer, Sr. won the Mod Tour heat with Clate Copeman winning the Townsend Gas & Oil Super Late heat. Also taking heat wins were Mike Ott in the RUSH Crate Lates and Brooks Kaufman and Chuck Dizzle in the DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinders.
