BRP Modified Tour 25th Silver Anniversary Weekend Showdown Will Find Over $41,000 In Purse Money

Marble, PA …..12/27/2021…….The BRP Modified Tour will end their 25th season with a 25th Weekend Celebration. Friday September 9, 2022 will find the final points race of the season run which will pay $2,500 to win for a 35-lap event. Then on Saturday, September 10, 2022 the big event, the 25th Anniversary Showdown will be run which will pay $7,000 to win, $500 to start for a 50-lap event at Michaels Mercer Raceway in Mercer, PA. Total BRP Modified Tour purse for the weekend will be over $41,500! Any New York style-dirt Modified can come and compete with the BRP Modified in any of our events, including this weekend.
The weekend will start off with racetrack grounds opening on Thursday, September 8th for campers who want to spend the weekend. On Friday, the final points event of the 2022 season will be run with the winner of the race being a guaranteed starter for the Saturday night event. For all cars that did not purchase a season membership pass there will be a $25 membership fee paid to participate in the Friday night show by Modified drivers only. Other classes for that event will be announced in the near future by the track. The total Friday night purse will be $12,700 plus $125 for non-qualified cars and there will be $75 tow money for those who cannot start the B-Main. After the racing action is completed, there will be a band for entertainment.
On Saturday at 12pm (Noon) the 2022 Championship BRP Modified Tour Banquet will be held on the speedway grounds in a building up on the hill above the track. There will be a luncheon and then the 2022 Awards Ceremony will be held to honor our Champion and top drivers. The 2023X Bicknell Racing Products Chassis will be drawn in front of the crowd at the banquet using a reverse draw for all Perfect Attendance drivers. The teams will then have the rest of the afternoon to get prepared for the big 50-lap special event.
On Saturday night all cars, even those who had a 2022 membership will pay a $50 registration fee, payable to Modified Tour, Inc. However, if you participated in the Friday night event the cost will be $35. Driver will then draw a pill for their time trial position. Time trials will consist of either two or three cars qualifying at one time. The heat races will be lined up from the time trial results. The features will start 24 cars in 2022 and will be the same for this race. The first three rows (top 6) of the feature will be determined through a dash (Unless there are more than three heats, then this will be adjusted accordingly). The rest of the field will fall in according to heat race finishes and/or last chance races.
There will be a chance of receiving 4 Provisionals for the A-Main. The first one will go to the winner of the Friday night event. Second provisional will go to the Fastest Qualifier for the show; third provisional will be for the 2022 BRP Modified Tour Champion and the fourth qualifier will go to the team that traveled the farthest according to their legal address through Google Maps. If there happens to be a tie, then this will be broken through a pill draw with the lowest pill getting the position. If any of the provisional drivers should qualify through their heat, then that provisional spot will be dropped, and we will take more positions from the heat races. BRP Modified Tour board members will have the final say as to who qualifies and who doesn’t for the feature.
There will be special awards given away throughout the event. The Fastest Qualifier will receive $100 and there will be $100 given to the driver that sets a new track record based off time trials if a past record has been established. We are working on other special awards and will give more information as they become available. The A-Feature purse will total $28,220 with the Non-Qualifiers Purse being $5,000.
The first 24 cars that do not make the A-Feature will be move into the non-Qualifiers event. The lineup for this event will be determined by a redraw of the non-eligible drivers. Any cars that do not make the non-Qualifiers feature will be used for fill in for any scratched cars. You must take the green flag to be scored in all events. (Heats, B-Mains, Dash, etc.)
