(Middlebourne, WV) When small town dirt racing returns to the Tyler County Speedway this Saturday night April 2nd it will once again fill the hills of Middlebourne with a well-known roar of loud engines. A sound synonymous with spring dirt track action for the last forty one years. Year forty two will be no different for those racers who work all winter for the opportunity to have a little family fun every weekend from April through August. However, a special treat does await the tracks Super Late Model division in 2016. The legacy of the tracks ‘premier division’ is rich with fabled names of those who’ve shaped it’s unique quarter mile appearance. Garnering the most attention because of it’s evolution to what is now a dirt slinging machine employing 800+ horsepower and comprised simply of sheet metal, performance suspension, and held together by just a tubular chassis.

In 2016 the speedway’s top racers will wage wide open war once more but this year a new opportunity awaits. The Sunoco Race Fuels “Winners Shootout” will showcase the divisions finest. Rewarding those who earn their spots through victory lane and honoring the driver who earns the tracks top overall achievement in 2016. The all-new event is set for Saturday, August 27th.

Even though the speedway plays host to a large number of Late Model specials including the “Jackpot 100”, “Mega 100”, “Earl Hill Memorial”, “Topless 50”, and more the possibility to earn a spot in the seasons “ULTIMATE” victory lane expects to be the wildest twenty five laps in “Bullring” history. A race that awards only the winner, an intriguing pun as you have to win your spot to begin with. The rest of the field goes home empty handed and only the victor will reach the record books.

Racers must win a feature event at the speedway during the season or the overall year end points to earn a position in the event. Starting positions for the early fall finale will be set by using a unique style points system. The point system rewards the weekend warriors of the “Bullring” as they earn points for appearances, wins, season long standings, and being a fan favorite. The ‘shootout’ winner is guaranteed $5,000 + a 55gal. drum of Sunoco Race Fuel.

Field Aligning Points System: (accomplishment / points awarded for achievement)
Each Super or Steel Block Late Model event competed in at TCS during 2016 = 10pts
Each Super or Steel Block Late Model win at TCS = 25pts
Season Long Pt. Standings; (1st = 50pts / 2nd = 45pts / 3rd = 40pts / 4th = 35pts / 5th = 30pts)
Fan Voting Process (August 14th – 26th) – Each vote = 1pt.

So as we get set to for the forty second green flag on racing action at the Tyler County Speedway the story lines will also begin for the road to the Sunoco Race Fuels “Winners Shootout”. What will your favorite racers do to earn their spot? With only one opportunity each week and valuable points on the line you can bet on an interesting evening each time the speedways gates swing open for fans viewing pleasure.
