Conneaut, OH (June 1, 2016): This week at Raceway 7 will have all five divisions racing a regular show of heats and features as the season begins to show trends and hints of championship contenders.

Darrell Bossard won his first Evergreen Lake Park Campground CARS Crate Late Models feature of the current campaign last Friday in a show of speed, leading from flag to flag, a win which propelled him to the top of the points standings. 2009 track champion and winner on May 13 Dennis Lunger is second, 26-points back. Another eleven points down is another former champion, Kyle Zimmerman, with two wins this season.

Veteran Troy Johnson leads the Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mod championship battle, but only by three points over former champion Joel Watson, who has three victories in three appearances this season. Another 23-points back is the defending division champion, Percy McDonald, trying for his third E-Mod championship but still looking for his first win this year. Mike Potosky has a lone win, May 13, breaking an eight year Victory Lane drought.

With a win opening night Rob Bates leads the way in the Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stock points battle over last week’s winner Chris McGuire. The margin is huge for this early in the season at 105 markers, due to a poor turnout of racers in week one. Attendance has improved markedly since then so the competition will most assuredly heat up as the season wears on. Defending champion. Shawn Fawcett is third with a win coming May 20. Leigh Wheeler also has a win, that coming on May 13.

With two wins this season, defending champion Rick Prosser appears on his way to a second Bonnell’s Auto Group Economod championship, holding a 64-point edge over Steve Haefke, the winner on opening night. Eric Reinwald, still trying for his first 2016 win, is currently third, 36 points down from Haefke. Fifth-running Tyler Frankenberry went to Victory Lane for the first time ever last week.

Jason Easler has dominated the McDonald’s Sand and Gravel Mini Stocks this season, winning three of the four features contested thus far, with the fourth going to former champion Bud Sergeff, who is currently third in the standings behind Hoyt Mihalak, fast all season but not yet able to get to Victory Lane.
