ULMS Head To Tyler County For MEGA Weekend

The Zimmer Service Center United Late Model Series head to the “Baddest Bullring” in the country, Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia on Friday, June 1st and 2nd for the Mega Weekend. The two nights of late model action will see a 30 lap $3000 to win and a 40 lap $5000 to win main event for the ULMS Late Model competitors.

Also the Plyler Entry System United Emod Series will kick off their 2018 campaign as part of the massive MEGA 100 weekend that will see the open wheel Emod teams from all over the country competing for the cool $15,000 prize money on Saturday night. Expected Emod teams representing the Plyler Entry System UEMS Emod Series are defending series three time champion, Joel Watson, Mike McGee, Ken Zimmer, Gary Eicher, Greg Johnson, Shawn Shingledecker, Dan Sasso, Dan Davies, Bud Watson and Rich Michael Jr.

Thursday will be open practice and the Summit Racing Equipment Modified ‘Sanction Shootout’.
Friday nights action will see Twin $1,500 to win Modified – 25 lap Features plus $3,000 to win ULMS Late Models Series main event and on Saturday will see the $15,000 to win Modified – 50 Lap Feature plus $5,000 to win ULMS Late Models finale.

Emod racers are not required to be licensed members of UMP, AMS, ROD, AMRA, UEMS, DCC, or any other organization. Teams who want to receive points for their organization will simply sign up solely for the organization they wish to receive points from. An event entry fee for the Modified portion is required. The fee is $100 in advance or $150 at the gate. The Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series Entry Fee will be $30 per day.

EVENT FORMAT for the Emods: Officials from both the AMS, Renegades of Dirt, and Tyler County Speedway have agreed to the following event format. The American Modified Series with help from Tyler County Speedway will act as race directors for the event. Renegades of Dirt will award points and promote its racers and the event.

FRIDAY: The field will be split by pill draw. Each team will qualify, heat race, and run one of the two features on Friday. Points will be awarded to drivers throughout the night for qualifying, heat finish, and feature finish. Cars will lineup for their heats heads up based on how they qualify. There will be “#” heat races. Each driver will participate in a 10 lap heat race. Points will be awarded to each participant based on their heat race finish. The top two from each heat will redraw for feature starting spots. Twenty four cars will start each twin feature. There will be one B-Main per twin lined up based on heat race results (if needed). The B-Main will be 8 laps. Friday’s “MEGA Prelim” A-Main’s will be 25 laps and pay the winner $1,500 dollars. Additionally, the top four cars from each twin group in total points from Friday will be locked into Saturday’s main event (Spots 1-8). The top eight from points will redraw (1-8) for Sat. starting spots.

SATURDAY: There will be four ‘Qualifiers’ lined up based on Friday points results. Each ‘Qualifier’ will be 10 laps. The top three from each ‘Qualifier’ will advance (Spots 9-20) in the A-Main. There will be a 16 car ‘Last Chance Showdown’ with the top three advancing to the A-Main (Spots 21-23). There will be 1 MEGA qualifier provisional (Spot 24). (Spot 25) will be assigned to Summit Sanction Shootout provisional. (Spot 26) will be assigned to AMS Series provisional. (Spot 27) will be assigned to the Renegades of Dirt provisional. (Spot 28) will be assigned to the auctioned provisional. Saturdays Finale A-Main will be 50 laps and pay the winner $15,000!

The Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series will follow their normal ULMS race procedures of hot laps and qualifying determining the heat lineups. If there is three heats, there will be three qualifying groups determining the heat line ups and if there are four heats qualifying will be done by 2 groups (A-B group). Redraw format for the series is three heats, top three heat finishers redraw and four heats top 2 redraw. ULMS utilizes the Delaware restart procedures along with tire rule of Hoosier 1300 or American Racer 44 or harder compound on all four corners. All ULMS entered cars will go thru pre race tech by ULMS tech officials. Tyler County Speedway uses the Yellow Westhold Transponders for scoring.
