Conneaut, OH (August 13, 2014): Only three weeks of racing remain in the 2014 season so every point now will seemingly carries more importance than usual.

The Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models points lead now is tied after last week when Kyle Zimmerman won his second feature of the year. Matt Latta and Zimmerman each have 735 points with defending champion Chad Wright only 14 points back. Darrell Bossard also can not be counted out of the championship chase as he is only 55 points from the number one spot. 2009 champion Dennis Lunger is 77 points from the lead but mathematically still in the hunt. The points among the top three is now critical meaning every lap will count toward the end of season honors.

Gay Eicher is having a career year, currently leading the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods standings with a comfortable margin over three-time defending champion Joel Watson. 2009 champion Percy McDonald sits third but is 169 points from the lead, nearly out of contention. Raceway 7 promoter Dan McDonald is fourth, mathematically eliminated from winning contention, 255 points back. Fifth is Mike Potosky, 311 from the lead.

Defending Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks champion Chris Withers has a comfortable 53 point margin over former champion Ed Bolyard with Jimmy Kennerknecht third, 99 points out of the lead. Ken Lamp, 258 points back, and Chris Hochschild, 284 from the lead, are mathematically eliminated from title hopes.

Another very close title chase is the Zimmer Service Center Economods with Steve Birns holding a narrow nine-point advantage over young Josh Ferry. Rick Prosser, at 74 points from the lead, and Russ Kapalin, 90 points out, are still possible contenders but disaster would have to strike the front runners to allow them to come to the fore. Brandon Blackshear, a past champion and the winningest driver in the class, is fifth, 99 points from the lead, still in contention, but barely.

Dale Fraschetti is battling for his first Specialty Products Mini Stocks title and currently holds an eighteen point margin over former champion Bud Sergeff. This is another points chase that will go right down to the wire. Last week’s winner Jason Easler rides third, 61 points behind Sergeff. Defending champion Brad Cole is fourth, 115 points behind. Fraschetti. 153 points behind the lead in fifth is former champion Carlos Aponte.
